What We Do:
Providing the community with a place to donate and purchase building materials, decreasing the amount of reusable materials that end up in the landfill and creating cheaper options for home owners when remodeling, thereby decreasing the tax on our environment for raw materials.
The Problem We Are Addressing:
Every year hundreds of tons of otherwise useful materials are simply sent to the land fill. One reason for this is that there has been no mechanism to recycle these materials and make them available to those who could make use of them.
This problem of waste is especially prominent in the Yampa Valley where the construction industry is one of the largest segments of the local economy. With less than half of the housing units in our area "Owner Occupied", the frequent remodels, "scrapeoffs", and new home constructions are generating a tremendous volume of construction waste, much of it potentially useful or recycleable.
